Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about registering, attending, and getting the most out of your classes.

Registration & Booking

How do I register for classes?

Under the “Schedule” tab click on “Schedule & Registration,” use the filter keys to populate the class schedules, select your course, fill in your contact information, and click submit to be redirected to the checkout page.

When does registration close?

Registration closes after the first week of classes.

Do I have to create an online profile for my partner?
Yes. Each individual needs to have their own profile and agree to our online waiver form.
How can I register and pay for my partner or guest?
You must create individual profiles for each guest. At checkout you can enter your billing information to submit payment for their registration.
Which level is appropriate for me?
If you have dance experience and do not wish to start at the very beginning, you will be required to do an assessment to ensure you’re placed in the right S2S level. To coordinate an assessment, please email info@soul2sole.ca.
Do I need to bring a partner?
Partners are required for most group lessons. If you do not have a partner, you can still register and be paired with another single registrant if one is available on the first day of class. If we’re unable to pair you, you’ll be part of a class rotation.
How do I book private lessons?
To book a private lesson, please email info@soul2sole.ca.
If I'm on a membership program, do I have to book my classes or can I just show up?
Yes. All students, members included, must register online for their classes. Instructors need to know how many students are attending so we can determine class size and lead/follow ratios. Our studios also have limited capacity we cannot exceed, and if we don’t meet our minimum headcount we need to cancel the class and notify registered students.
Does S2S offer drop-in classes?
Yes. Periodically, we offer 1-hour workshops that are not progressive, and anyone can join. Our regular group sessions, however, are progressive, and registration closes after the first week of classes. Check out our pricing page for costs.
How do I register using my Groupon voucher?
As of May 2, 2025, S2S is no longer partnered with Groupon. If you have a pre-purchased Groupon voucher, you can contact Groupon for a refund. If you’re unable to receive a refund and your voucher hasn’t expired, please contact our customer service team at info@soul2sole.ca for further instructions.

Attendance & Policies

What is your cancellation policy?

To view our cancellation policy, click on “About Us,” then “Terms & Conditions.”

What happens if I miss a class?

While it’s the responsibility of the student to attend all lessons, we understand that’s not always possible. Students are granted 1 make-up lesson per term. A make-up lesson is not a private lesson, but rather the opportunity to book an alternate day the class is being offered to make up for the one missed. There are no refunds or credits for missed classes.

What happens if my schedule changes and I can't complete the session?
There are no refunds, credits, or transfers once a class is in progress. S2S incurs studio and instructor expenses to run each class based on minimum headcount. Should a student no longer be able to attend their classes, they’ll forfeit their payment and would need to re-register.
I keep receiving the "We Missed You" email even though I attended. Why?
Instructors are required to update class attendance online. If they don’t do so by midnight, students are automatically marked absent in our system and receive a notification the next day. If you receive this notification but did in fact attend class, please email info@soul2sole.ca so we can update your attendance.

General

What do I wear to class?
  • Comfortable clothing and shoes (no rubber soles, as they restrict movement and scuff floors)
  • Indoor shoes are required. Please make sure your shoes are clean underneath to avoid debris damaging the flooring.
  • As this is a partnered dance, students must come to class smelling clean and in good health to avoid spreading viruses. No strong colognes or perfumes, as some students may be allergic.
I'd like to talk with someone in person. Is there a head office?

Soul2Sole is a remote business made up of volunteers and dedicated part-time staff. Our administrative team works offsite, and our main form of communication is email so we can track correspondence and keep administrative costs down. This helps us keep our prices competitive.

Where can I buy dance shoes?
S2S isn’t in partnership with any specific retailer for dance attire, so you can simply do a Google search to find a retailer near you. Keep in mind that dance shoe sizes vary between suppliers, so we strongly recommend trying on shoes before purchasing.
