The Team
Jocelyn Azarcon

Artistic Director & Co-founder
Jocelyn Azarcon, Director and Co-founder of Soul2Sole Latin Dance Company has been involved with the Arts her entire life.
From a young age Jocelyn was exposed to dance by her family. Inspired by her parents and siblings, her training in Ballroom began at the age of 13. At a young age she competed in a few renowned Canadian Latin Ballroom Competitions and finished with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies in the Bronze and Silver division.
In her teens she was a requested choreographer as part of the African Nations STEP dance team and was a highlight performer in several high school talent shows, as well as charitable events in Step, Hip Hop, and break dancing.
Jocelyn has extensive training in Latin International Ballroom, Folklore, Hip Hop and of course Salsa/Mambo. To keep progressive Jocelyn exposes herself to different dance disciplines and continues to learn from Salsa dance professionals as well as Latin Ballroom Professionals around the world. Exploring the most efficient teaching methods and keeping current with the latest dance trends offers students a dynamic learning experience with Soul2Sole instructors.
Jocelyn’s motivation is fueled from her student’s excitement and progress. She is the key figure in choreographing and planning events and has taught many students; some of whom have gone on to become Salsa instructors and worldwide performers today.
Her love of children has motivated her to create Latin and Ballroom dance programs in elementary schools and high schools, which also teaches students etiquette and social behavior. Jocelyn choreographs for special events and weddings, and has implemented successful programs with corporate organizations for team building and employee appreciation. She is also a fitness enthusiast and offers Salsa cardio classes at several fitness centers across Toronto.
Her energetic, upbeat, fun loving personality makes her classes enjoyable. Her attention to detail and technique makes it easy for students to follow while having a great time!
She says “dancing is similar to acting, each dance plays a role, and each song unfolds a meaning. To express the role through movement is a gift of talent that strengthens over time. Dance is a lifestyle, your learning is never ending and it becomes a lifelong journey.”
Hugh Wilson

Instructor, Principal Dancer
From the very first time Hugh was exposed to Salsa, he was intrigued. He quickly began taking private lessons and has been dancing Salsa since mid year of 2000.
Only 6 months into learning Salsa Hugh took the plunge in entering his first Salsa competition with Jocelyn and placed third at the Berlin Competition in 2001. Aside from working a full time career and running his own martial arts school, Hugh continues to train and perform at local events with Soul2Sole. It is shocking to many as to how he finds the time to do it all but you quickly realize it is the passion that fuels his energy. Hugh is a natural born leader by trade. His positive outlook and motivation makes students feel very comfortable and aspired when learning from him.
Hugh has extensive Martial Arts training since 1972 and is referred to as Sifu Hugh Wilson a Cantonese term meaning master or teacher. He owns and operates Wilson Martial Arts Academy in Mississauga that teaches the discipline of Wing Chun Kung Fu and the sport of Sanshou. Hugh’s commitment is to give back to the community that has given so generously to him over the years.

Justin Sang

Assistant Instructor, Performer
Before dancing, Justin made music—with piano, trumpet, guitar and drums. In his teens, his passion for rhythm turned to dance. He spent much of his free time in the urban hip hop scene (at a time when it was still taboo). Justin danced in some of the first hip hop and breakdancing battles in Toronto.
After many years as a self-taught hip hop dancer, Justin became interested in Salsa when he saw a demonstration performed by Soul2Sole at the National Trade Center in 2000. Seeking to expand his repertoire, he started as a student at Soul2Sole, and over the years has trained diligently.
Justin loves to dance, and does so regularly, continuously learning, and evolving his style.
Apart from dancing, Justin is a practicing Acupuncturist, QiGong practioner, JiuJitsu Black Belt, loves to play music, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering.
